Architects and master builders in Timișoara in the time of Bolyai

During the XIXth century Timișoara changed, compared to earlier centuries. The great fortification transformed in time into a small town with a bougeosie society. The Habsburg power did not bring any more military engineers, as during the former century. Design and building work was done in this period of time by well-trained master builders, among which the most well-known was Anton Schmidt. In the second half of the century the local office of the bishop called to Timisoara a young architect. This architect was Eduard Reiter, who became in time the most important designer in Timișoara in the XIXth century.
